Heather and Rowan at Corby Crags - Original Painting
The view from Corby Crags is always spectacular. CorbyCrags areon the B6341 betweenRothbury andAlnwickin Northumberland. As the road meanders and climbs, suddenly the landscape opens up on the left to reveal a vista of low rolling hills and a patchwork of fields over to the distant Cheviots.
It’s a subject I’ve painted many times, at different times of year and in various weather conditions.
But it’s at its most colourful at the very end of Summer, when the bell heather and ling are in full bloom and the windswept rowan trees are heavy with scarlet berries.
This painting was created using Artist's acrylic paints on a canvasboard.
The painted image is 30 by 40 cm. It is ready to hang and framed in a bespoke "double" frame, making the the outer dimensions of the framed work 45 by 55.5 cm.
