A small signed painting of Lindisfarne Castle. Holy Island, or Lindisfarne, is a small island just off the coast of Northumberland. Connected to the coast by a causeway road, it is totally cut off by the tide twice a day. Its unique position, exposed to the sea and the elements, means that the light changes constantly, bringing wild and wonderful contrasts.
The Castle sits on a crag which is part of The Whin Sill. Below the lichen covered rocks are battered by the tides.
It was painted using Artist's acrylic paints on a textured heavy weight paper.
It is ready to hang, with an ivory coloured mount and framed in a bespoke solid oak frame which is 26 cm square. The painted image is 12 cm square.
Small enough to hang anywhere- an awkward space or on a staircase, but with enough quiet presence to always look great- singly or as part of a group. Hang them in blocks, vertical rows ot horizonal lines.
