Walking on Ross Sands  Print 0098

Ross Sands is comparatively inaccessible beach on the Northumbrian coast, lying between Holy Island and Bamburgh.  With the only parking over a mile from the beach, it requires a walk through sand dunes to get to the long sweeping bay. This makes it a quieter beach than most- a haven for the serious nature lover, rather than those looking for seaside attractions. It's wild, timeless place, where the weather seems more extreme than other places on the coast, as there's very little shelter from sun or wind.

The view in this print is looking North, up the coast, with Lindisfarne Castle on Holy Island on the horizon, across the narrow stretch of sea.
The tall needle like structures are a pair of navigation towers, built back in the 1800’s and known locally as the “Old Law Beacons”.  These still help to guide boats into the harbour on Holy Island.

Like all of my standard prints, this is printed with a white border, on a heavy duty matt archival quality paper, using pigment based professional colours, to produce a fine quality print that will give decades of pleasure.  Title and artist's signature on the lower edge of the border. Shipped rolled, without mount, ready to frame.
