Dunstanburgh- Morning Reflections

Dunstanburgh- Morning Reflections

Regular price £98.00

Dunstanburgh Castle is one of Northumberland's most iconic sights and a favourite subject for artists and photographers alike. Set on a dramatic  headland, the castle ruins rise above the sea like a broken crown. It was painted in various moods by JMW Turner on his first visit to Northumberland in 1797 and on subsequent visits up until 1834.

This is one of my favourite places along the Northumbrian coast. We go there all year round and I’ve painted it many times in various different moods, from winter days when the beach is pale blue with frost, to bakingly hot summer days. It's always spectacular. But I particularly love it when the beach is covered with a thin skim of water, whichs reflects the vast ever changing sky.

Printed with a white border, on a heavy duty matt, archival quality paper, using pigment based professional colours, to produce a fine quality print that will give decades of pleasure.  Handwritten title and Artist's signature.   Shipped rolled, without mount, ready to frame.
