Foxglove Woods- Original Painting

Regular price £570.00

I’ve always loved foxgloves. They grow where they choose, often in extreme spots in dry stone walls, gravel paths and newly cleared woodland. But if you try to tame them and grow them in your garden, they will probably refuse to grow.  They have a sculptural, almost architectural form. The rigid, upright spikes are surrounded by delicate bells of pink with pale speckled throats and inside are as velvety and soft as bubble bees. These particular foxgloves were a five minute walk from my studio, in a small stand of trees that one might walk past without giving a second glance. But in the summer sunlight it looks like the perfect setting for Shakespeare’s “Midsummer Night’s Dream”.

This painting was created using Artist's acrylic paints on a canvasboard.

The painted image is 30 by 40 cm. It  is ready to hang and framed in a bespoke "double" frame, making the the outer dimensions of the framed work 45 by 55.5 cm.
