Snowy Edlingham Print 0037

A palette of fresh blues and rust reds creates a cool, tranquil mood in this print.

In mid January the temperature suddenly plummeted and we had a fresh fall of snow. Knowing that snow can often only last for a few hours, I went out on a photo shoot  to capture some images to paint from. Corby Crags is one of my favourite viewpoints, which I've captured many times in different weather conditions and times of year, but I'd never painted it with a coating of snow. So I took the road from Rothbury to Alnwick and carefully pulled into the icy parking bay at the crags. It was bitterly cold in the breeze, so I was glad I was well wrapped up and wearing my fingerless gloves to allow me to press the shutter. Before numb fingers and a frozen nose made me head back to the warmth of home, I captured as many photos as I could of the rolling fields, the old viaduct and the ruin of Edlingham Castle.

Like all of my standard prints, this is printed with a white border, on a heavy duty matt archival quality paper, using pigment based professional colours, to produce a fine quality print that will give decades of pleasure.  Title and artist's signature on the lower edge of the border. Shipped rolled, without mount, ready to frame.
