Thrum Mill is situated on the river Coquet just downstream of Rothbury, and has long been a favourite walk and picnic spot for local residents and visitors alike. It has been featured extensively on Channel Four’s ‘Restoration Man’ with George Clark.
It’s always a great subject to paint as the narrow gorge is filled with dark shadows and bright reflections as the river rushes over the mill’s weir and through the rocks.
Home to wildlife from kingfishers to deer, in Spring the rocks are covered with daisies, dandelions and soft green vegetation.
Printed with a white border, on a heavy duty matt paper. Shipped rolled in a postal tube, without mount, ready to frame.
