Bamburgh Beach is always worth visiting, regardless of the time of day, time of year or the weather- it always rewards you with something new. It's a scene I never tire of- the apparently unchanging profile of the castle, set against everything else in a state of flux- sea, sky and landscape constantly changing. Sometimes it's wild and dramatic, the castle, solid on its high rocky pedestal, dominating a restless, raging sea. Other times its almost dreamlike, the castle seeming to float above a pastel coloured sea and drifts of wildflowers.
The cheery bright yellow daisy like flowers of ragwort are pollinator-friendly and are the primary food plant of caterpillars of the cinnabar moth. But as it is poisonous to livestock, it is viewed as a serious weed of paddocks and pastures.

This series of small paintings are small enough to hang anywhere- an awkward space or on a staircase, but with enough presence to always look great- singly or as a group. Hang them in blocks, vertical rows or horizonal lines.
