Bamburgh Storm
Bamburgh Beach is one of my favourite places in Northumberland and I've painted it many times in all seasons, times of day and weather conditions. It never disappoints.
I love the contrast between the shifting, watery beach and sky, with the solid, unchanging profile of the castle. Sometimes dramatic storms can appear, creating strange dreamlike scenes, but castle endures.
This painting was created using Artist's acrylic paints on a canvasboard. It has been given two layers of matt UVA protective varnish, to help guard the surface against light and mechanical damage in years to come.
The painted image is 30 by 40 cm. It is ready to hang and framed in a bespoke "double" frame, making the the outer dimensions of the framed work 45 by 55.5 cm.
