A symphony of warm greens, this painting is of The River Coquet as it meanders its inevitable way down the Coquet Valley. Weaving past small villages- Alwinton, Harbottle, Hepple, and Thropton it grows larger and more staid all the way until it reaches Rothbury. Then it continues eastwards, growing ever bigger and bolder all the way, gliding through the larger villages and towns until it reaches Warkworth and Amble, where it loops and flows into the sea.
This is one of my favourite views of the river, flashing and glinting in the late summer sunshine.
It was created using Artist's acrylic paints on a canvasboard.
The painted image is 30 by 40 cm. It is ready to hang and framed in a bespoke "double" frame, making the the outer dimensions of the framed work 45 by 55.5 cm.
