This A5 sized jigsaw has 80 pieces and is printed onto card. A blank inside greetings card featuring the same image (plus a fine quality envelope) is included as a reference to help solve the puzzle. Once solved, you can post the card to a friend.
This image, is based on my own small small painting of Lindisfarne Castle in the gentle light of an early summer morning.
Holy Island, also known as Lindisfarne, lies just off the Northumberland coast and is connected to the mainland by a tidal causeway, which disappears beneath the sea twice each day. That ever changing relationship with tide, sky and weather gives the island a remarkable atmosphere, where the light can shift from soft and tranquil to wild and dramatic within moments.
In this painting, daisies and red campion stirred by the breeze create a pastel coloured foreground against the quieter tones of the castle beyond. It captures the peaceful beauty and slightly mystical feeling that makes Holy Island such a special place for so many visitors.
