The alder trees in the painting stand proudly on the grassy line of fortifications of Old Rothbury Hillfort- the remains of an Iron Age settlement, still evident in the landscape. Now part of the Carriage Drive of the Cragside Estate on the outskirts of modern Rothbury, this spot has a wide sweeping view of the Simonside Hills.
It was painted using Artist's professional acrylic paints on a textured heavy weight paper.
It is ready to hang, and framed in a bespoke solid oak frame which is 26 cm square. The painted area is 12 cm square.
