Pauperhaugh Bridge - Original Painting

Regular price £120.00
This small painting is of Pauperhaugh Bridge on the River Coquet. This lovely old Grade 2 Listed sandstone bridge has five arches, the outer two of which are flood arches. These allow for sudden rises in the river levels, as the river can suddenly change from a slow stately flow, to a surging torrent, depending on the rainfall high in the hills of Coquetdale.

But on days like this one- when the sunlight warms the stonework and highlights the autumnal trees, it's the most tranquil of places. No wonder it's a favourite spot for anglers and walkers stopping to watch the river glide by.

It was painted onto textured heavy weight paper, using Artist's professional acrylic paints.

It is ready to hang, and framed in a bespoke solid oak frame which is 26 cm square. The painted area is 12 cm square.

This series of small paintings are small enough to hang anywhere- an awkward space or on a staircase,  but with enough presence to always look great- singly or as a group. Hang them in blocks, vertical rows or horizonal lines.
