Warkworth Castle with Wild Flowers
Warkworth Castle sits on the banks of the River Coquet, as it meanders its leisurely way to the sea. Now largely ruined and run by English Heritage, this romantic fortress was once the bustling home to the Northumbrian Percy family. It was used by William Shakespeare as the setting for several scenes of his Henry IV plays.
In my print, the castle forms a contrasting backdrop for a golden summer wheat field, splashed with vivid poppies, bristling oat heads, white campion, alkanet, "dog daisies" and other seasonal flowers. This seems to me to represent the quintessential summer day in Northumberland- the sort of day one longs for on grey, winter days.
Like all of my standard prints, this is printed with a white border, on a heavy duty matt archival quality paper, using pigment based professional colours, to produce a fine quality print that will give decades of pleasure. Title and artist's signature on the lower edge of the border. Shipped rolled, without mount, ready to frame.
SIZE- Coloured area of print 29 cm x 34.5 cm
As with all of my paper prints, it is also available printed onto shallow, stretched canvases of various sizes by request.
